Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay have been collaborating since their days at the Royal College of Art, having graduated together in 2006. Mer's interest focuses on turning 2d sheet materials into curvaceous, functional forms, while Alkalay is fascinated by the movement and function of things.
Both have won the British Council Talented Prize in Milan, and their works have been exhibited in galleries in New York and Paris, among others. Their products are being produced by Established and Sons, one of the most relevant manufacturing companies today.
I have been in love with these pieces since first sight. They're simple and beautiful and function brilliantly. I know I use that word too often, but here, 'brilliant' is an understatement. There are no words......
