As I write this, I am playing Crystal Castles' self-titled album for the twentieth time today. 'Crimewave' (CRYSTAL CASTLES vs. HEALTH) is the only song I've heard in months that actually makes me want to dance.Toronto duo Ethan Kath and Alice Glass named their project after the Crystal Castle in She-Ra: Princess of Power (hello, childhood! I missed you).
What's Pitchfork saying? "pitch-shifted vocal snippets (that) ricochet like pinballs around 8-bit synths". It's true.
