'WANT' AND YARDSALE PARTY TEASER

from designboom:

"students from the University of Washington's Visual Communication Design Program have developed 'want', an interactive retail experience that is about educating college students on how to become savvier with their money.  the 'merchandise' inside the imaginary store is constructed from laser cut cardboard, and includes everything from coffee to electronics, to apparel, each printed with a different tip on how to save money on that item.  as in a regular store, visitors are invited to flip through clothing racks and browse the shelves at their leisure"

AND just a little teaser.....

the crew in windsor is planning another yardsale fundraiser, last year for 'artcite', the non-profit art gallery, and this year for CJAM fm.  if you're from the area you likely know how much CJAM needs some love and support.
more details to come.  but get stoked, will you?

MAY 29TH!!!!

ROBYN LIANNE

This is my sweet girl Robyn L., who designed the gorgeous hair pieces pictured.  She got started on them a few weeks before Toronto Fashion Week, where she volunteered as a dresser.  With the help of a few smitten friends who wore them throughout the week, Robyn's creations were a hit with stylists, models, and designers alike.
If you're interested in snagging one for yourself, message Robyn on facebook here

CALIFORNIA SELECT VINTAGE.... STORES!

I know, I know.... old news.  Everyone knows about the American Apparel vintage 'line' (if you can call it that?) 'California Select'.  However- and forgive me if I'm that tardy on this- it's not just an ebay store anymore!
They have opened stores in LA, New York, Toronto, etcetera etcetera!  AA's site will link you to the California Select 'Vintage and More' blog where all the amazing items they come across, have dry cleaned (yay!) and send out randomly to their shops are shown.  I can't wait to come across one of these.  I'm going to have to check out the one in Toronto soon (Robyn! get on that....!), although I hate to say i'm sure their things are rather pricy.  At least on ebay, it was bidding and part of the fun was competing for items with 'mystery' prices.
Then again, this stuff you can actually try on first.

ooh, 'mystery' prices :)
